Bakuchi Oil (Bakuchiol)- Ayurvedic Medicine

While it is now popular in modern cosmetics for its "retinol-like" compound, Bakuchiol, its origins and primary historical use are deeply rooted in Ayurvedic medicinal practice.

Bakuchi oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the Psoralea corylifolia plant, commonly known as the Babchi plant.  

• Origin: This plant is a wild legume native to India and grows in the Himalayan regions of Pakistan and China.  

• Traditional Use: The seeds of this plant, called Bakuchi seeds, have been used for centuries in traditional Chinese and Indian Ayurvedic medicine to address various skin ailments.  

• Active Compound: Bakuchi oil contains a concentration of the compound Bakuchiol, which is the highly prized, scientifically studied ingredient often used as a gentler, natural alternative to retinol in skincare products.
